SAE Servicemen: Initiation in Andernach, Germany, February 18, 1919
During World War I, SAEs held the first two initiations into an American college fraternity in Europe. The second initiation, of Lloyd Brown from the University of Wisconsin, was held in the ruins of a castle in the Electors at Andernach-on-the-Rhine.
